Number Portability

Want to keep your existing phone number? No problem.

If you have had the same phone numbers for many years don’t worry about losing them. With c2cvoip we will port your numbers over to your new VoIP system. You get to keep all your numbers when you come on board. We make the entire process hassle free.

Things you should know when porting numbers:

  • Planning:
The average porting time is 15 days, but can take as long as 45 days. It is important to carefully plan your system migration. At c2cvoip we walk you through the entire process and ensure your numbers are ported correctly, and your new system is ready to go live when the numbers officially port.
  • Complete Porting:
Every number can be ported. That includes toll free numbers, fax numbers, and all DID’s. Every exiting number for your business can be ported as long as you own them.
  • Don’t Terminate:
In order to port numbers the account you are leaving must be active. If you cancel service before the port completes, your account will be closed prematurely and you will lose your number. Don’t cancel anything until we confirm that the numbers have been officially ported.
  • Gather Information:
You must have the account number, and PIN or password for the account you are porting away numbers from. You must also have the account holder’s name and billing address exactly like it is on the bill. If you do not have all this accurate information your port will be delayed or canceled. A c2cvoip representative will walk you through the entire process and make sure you have all the information needed for a successful port.
  • Initiating:
In order to start a port you will have to provide written consent. Your c2cvoip representative will provide you with all the forms you need to make your number porting quick and easy.

The migration of my new phone system to c2cvoip was a smooth process. All the forms were easy to handle, the system configuration was painless, and all my phones were delivered ready for a plug and play installation. Once my phones were plugged in I was ready to start making calls.
